Wow, I've Been Busy

Hmmm...you'd think that living in the bush would leave you bored after work, but since I've returned from Saskatoon from Winter Break, I haven't really had a minute to myself. Which is good in a way. The weekend was so beautiful that I spent the entire weekend doing spring cleaning on the house and me...LOL... maybe a bit premature though as now we're having snow and the wind is howling again...oh well, it felt good to smell the spring air for awhile anyways...there's been hockey games every night this weekend so I haven't really been at home much. Last night I took the girl's hockey team to Canoe Lake and we didn't get back until 10...tonight I'm headed to Buffalo with the high school hockey team...go cheer them on. So, I do have some pictures to share with you but I think that will have to wait until the weekend! Later -- enjoy the wind and snow! (yeah, Right!)

A Day Late, But Still

In honour of Valentine's day...I know I'm a day late, but I couldn't get to the computer b/c I'm in Meadow Lake taking that course...but here I am at 2am...pondering about Valentine's Day...and this is my pondering....

Self expanatory...Right?!?

Fish Anyone?!?

Just a funny pic that I thought I would share -- we took a day trip
via skidoo to Dipper Lake -- Lisa's father-in-law, Barry, and Tristen checked
the net and then we had fish on a stick in the bush -- yummy! And of course, the poser I am,
had to get a picture with the main course! LOL
Tonight I'm heading off to Meadow Lake - I'll be taking the second half of my accredidation seminar Thursday and Friday and then next week is our winter break, so I'm headed to Saskatoon Friday night to spend some quality time with the family -- hopefully it warms up a bit. Can't guarantee when the next post will be - but keep checkin!
Happy Winter. (yeah right! LOL)

The Secret is Out!

I know, its not nice to keep secrets....tough luck I guess :) So, last Sunday, I booked it to Saskatoon and Dziboo and I went to visit Sheri and baby Jaslynn...I guess we're all good at keeping secrets b/c for some of you, reading this post is the first you've heard of our 8 hour drive for a 45 minute visit...but I tell you, it was definitely worth it. She is soooo sweet...hmmm...she freaked out with me, yapping and moving around but I know its just because she had so much to tell me (or so I tell myself :) ) But when Dziboo took her, she mellowed right out and he even managed to rock her to sleep, until I started talking and she woke up (apparently, according to Dziboo, the sound of my voice is what drives her to freak out...nice, eh?!? LOL) Anyways, here's some pics for your perusal....

So True...Makes You Think! And Laugh!

I think its pretty self explanatory but sometimes I come across things that just make me say Hmmmm...and laugh out loud. This one did. I found it on one of friend's bebo pages and it just touched the sarcastic, smart ass side of me. LOL! Love it!

Phone a Friend...

So this past week, as you read, has been a difficult one...I couldn't pinpoint my feelings, whether I was blue b/c of the weather, work, life....no clue. So I spent this cold Saturday on the phone... If you tried to call you would know I literally mean all day and no, still I won't get call waiting...LOL

Talking with friends does make things better...I'm feeling better and I really have my friends and family to thank for that. I had a good long chat with my brother and realized how much I really miss him...so much, its been at least 3 years since we've seen each other in the flesh...much too long...this summer is definitely the time for a trip to Vancouver...

Winter Blues?!?!

I remember making a post last year about feeling kind of blue and I'm sitting here again, about to make a post that is quite similar in nature. Not sure if its just the winter blues or what but I know I need to snap out of it. The kids are happy to be back in school. After a two week, unscheduled break, they are actually smiling and laughing while I am in this winter blah. Hmmm....

But, this is not an invitation to a pity party as there isn't really anything to pity....LOL...if that makes any sense whatsoever...not sure....I'm sure the slump will fade soon, and if it doesn't there's always prozac (LOL)

There's a hockey tournament in LaRonge this weekend...not sure if I'm going to head that way or not...no definite plans as of this moment. Guess we'll see which way the wind blows! Hopefully you're winter is a bit more cheerful today than mine...

Need a Good Laugh?!?

Well, the following story should provide that laugh for you...here it goes...

So, Paul is coaching the girls hockey team and he asked me to come and skate with them. No problem ... I think to myself....I can skate...I sure as hell can't play hockey, but he just wants me to skate...alrighty then

I convince Lisa to come with me (she has played hockey before) and as we're sitting in the dressing room, Lisa convinces me to dress up in one of the boys' goalie equipment..you know, for shits and giggles....well giggle we did.

First Problem - I have no frickin' clue how to put on goalie equipment. Once I get the pants on, I can't bend over to tie up my skates. So I call for help. Russell comes in to dress me up. Yup. So, on goes the pants, the skates, the goalie pads (for this, I had to lie on my stomach on the dressing room floor of which only God knows what it contains...) and then on goes the chest protector, the jersey, and of course the helmut.

Second Problem - I can't move! I can't bend! And I sure as hell can't skate if I can't even bend my legs. But I try to look like I know what I'm doing and I hobble out of the room and make my way to the ice.

Third Problem - as soon as I step onto the ice, I fall flat on my ass...yuppers, can't bend my knees to get up, I'm laughing uncontrollably... good times...why the hell am I doing this?!? LOL...

Fourth Problem - well, actually its the reason for the second and third problems -- the goalie pads are supposed to come up past your knees by a few inches, these goalie pads came up to my hips...hello!?!? problems...nothing but problems

nonetheless, they were problems that initiated a lot of laughter...and for that, I thought I must share this story.

And yes, pictures were taken...once I get my hands on those pictures, I will post one... Happy Friday!
