And so we've come to the end...

Of yet another year. It seems that my main saying lately has been "time flies" but it is most certainly true...time really does fly! Well, an adventure with my beloved camera -- piss me off -- I dropped my memory card while attempting to download pictures at Walmart and not lose my purse or my parcels, and somebody f$%#@&*g swiped it....bummer.... whatever, shit happens. I did manage to get two more for a pretty fair price, but it pissed me off nonetheless....onto happier thoughts...

This year has been an adventure, like others in the past but a bit harder. It's always difficult to leave good friends and make new ones, it works out, but it can be a difficult adjustment period. I've had my ups and downs this past year (insert "preaching to the choir" here) but after talking or emailing many people over the holidays (and most weekends) I realize how truly blessed I am to have so many loving people in my life.

And with that, have a safe and happy New Year's Eve, wherever you may be. May you start 2007 with a clean slate and an open heart. Hugs and kisses to all....

Boxing Day Crowds

Regardless of the crowds...it's still fun to shop on Boxing Day. I managed to spend the gift cards I had received and a few of my own bucks too....Dollarama is still on my list...you know, the usual stocking up on Christmas stuff for next year. Tomorrow my Mom and I are off to Estevan to visit family -- looking forward to it. Well, hope you're all stuffed with turkey twice over! (mmmm....leftovers today!) Later...

Merry Christmas

Usually I spend Christmas day at one, maybe two houses but today I got around. Okay, that didn't sound that good...but it was innocent. I spent Christmas Eve with my Dad's side of the family , then went out to the farm to be with my mom. Christmas morning and brunch was with my mom and Bill and then I came back into the city to be with my Grandma, Aunts, Uncles and cousins.... then here I am now at Sheri's Mom's house with my other family...phew...busy day. Must get some rest as we are attempting to fight the boxing day crowds tomorrow and my Auntie Lois wants to get an early start (7am early) Yup...might go shopping in my pjs! On Wednesday my Mom and I are driving south to Estevan to see Robin, Tara and the boys...then I'll spend the weekend with Sheri again.... the holidays are going by quickly. I meant to make many phone calls today to wish y'all a merry Christmas, but its been so jam packed I never got a chance...hopefully tomorrow night. Anyways, I hope you all had a wonderful day...talk to some of you soon.
With Love

Saskatoon or Bust

Greetings...I don't hve 100% access to the internet over the holidays so I'll post when I can... no promises...

I left Patuanak yesterday and it took me a loooonnnnnggg time to get down the gravel road -- I'm just glad I still have my teeth at the end...just kidding ... most of the road was pretty good but there were some spots where I was vibrating like mad... that sounds more enjoyable than it was.

Hmmmm...so here I am in Saskatoon....good to be home for Christmas. Sheri and I have a busy day of Christmas shopping planned for tomorrow -- the city is nuts -- traffic is nuts, the malls and parking lots -- all nuts. But, tis the season for that, I suppose!

Well, not much news as of yet. Hope you're all getting ready for family and friends over the holidays... til next time I sit at a computer,

Happy Holidays -- remember -- all's fair in love, war, and mall parking lots!

It's Just One Big Digression

What in the world did we do before we had the internet? I remember when I was in grade 10 and the internet was just in its "coming out" stages....it seemed so bazaar -- now, its hard to imagine life without it. Less people take the time to write letters (me included) and we rely on email, e-cards, MSN messenger and webcams to stay in touch. Kind of sad when you really stop to think about it. I love how you can send an email and its at your friend's computer or inbox in a matter of seconds -- but gone are the days when you could tell something about a person because of their handwriting...and it's difficult to judge a person's typing skills because you don't even see them in the act of preparing your message (usually) Although it happens throughout the year, I find that this time of year especially I receive an abnormal amount of Christmas greetings, cartoon, and jokes in my inbox. I'm not complaining...but I always feel like this time of the year pushes me to get in touch with friends with whom I haven't chatted for too long....anyways, enjoy all that goes with this time of year -- as you're reading my mass note...if only I had time to handwrite you each a note individually!
Happy Holidays!

It's Been Awhile....I Know

Sorry for the lack of blogging lately -- not quite sure what excuse I can insert here. Yes, I have been busy but I've been busy all along and have still managed to maintain this space. Oh well, back on track. Guess I'm a liar too -- last posting I guaranteed you I'd post later that week -- that didn't happen...anyways.... too late now...you'll have to settle for this

The past 10 days have been busy. We finished off our classes last Friday and have been getting marks ready and reviewing with the students for their final exams, which start tomorrow. I am still in shock and just how fast time passes. I've spent many a nights catching up with friends on the phone...guess my mom was right - I should just tape that damn thing to my head -- or I could get a headset...whichever. Anyways - its been nice to hear familiar voices.

On Saturday I drove the pick up with the girls' equipment as they had a hockey tournament in Beauval. They played (and won) six games. We left here around 8:00 am and got home just before midnight -- a long day but it was great to watch them and cheer them on. Plus, I got suckered into coaching them and then they thought it would be a great idea for me to start playing with them -- ha -- like that's not the funniest thing you've heard for awhile.

But, I must be going as I have lots to do. I'm trying to get the first week back set up so that I can relax over the holidays. Mmmm hmmm, good luck with that one, I know. No guarantees on when the next post will be -- but it will come -- later gaters!

Hockey Night (Weekend) in Patuanak

Silly me...didn't take any pictures this weekend...but am a firm believer that text is more interesting when accompanied by a picture --- especially when its my text and its usually pretty wordy! Grabs your attention, no?!? Whatever.... this weekend there was a hockey tournament in town...8 teams from out of town and 2 teams from Patuanak....the first place prize was $3000 and we got to see some good hockey and some energetic fans! We were using the tournament as an opportunity to do some more fundraising for the grade 12's -- the usual -- 50/50 tickets, loonie stick, airplane toss, and come and go bingos. We made around $500 to go towards grad -- good turn out. Still doing the same thing I was doing in Deline - begging them for their money:)) Oh well, its all for the kids. Some of the boys I teach were playing and they kept promising to get a goal for me -- they enjoy having the fans! Well, I'm pretty wiped out from the exciting weekend...have a lot of marking to do and then have to get ready for tomorrow. Hope you all had a good weekend! I'll blog more this week -- guaranteed!
